About Montigny

We Surpassed the Norm Years Ago

Calvin Montigny grew up in South Worcester County with a love of the outdoors, where he stretched his curiosity along with his horizons. He quickly knew that working in landscaping was where he wanted to be, but learning more about the field was just as important.

His drive for landscaping knowledge landed him at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at University of Massachusetts. He went on to start Montigny Landscaping in 1987, but it doesn’t end with 33 years of landscaping experience, and counting.

Incorporating design and continuing care with scientific, site-specific selection of plants and materials, Montigny Landscaping isn’t like those mow-and-go-plow-snow operations when winter settles in. Calvin devotes time to journals and seminars to stay a step ahead of changing conditions, from climate to pests and methods of helping outdoor property thrive in its unique natural setting. His idea of winter plowing is to plow into that background knowledge and dig deeper.
Landscaping for us goes well beyond the norm for Central Massachusetts. Value is measured in long-term endurance and appeal, whether it’s floral and tree plantings, hardscapes from walkways to fire pits and patios, lighting or water displays for green space or poolside enjoyment.

South Worcester County, Central Massachusetts and Northeast Connecticut are where Calvin feels blessed to share that enjoyment of the outdoors. Satisfied clients range from towns including Sturbridge, Southbridge, Dudley, Oxford, Auburn, Douglas, Brimfield, Holland and Northeast Connecticut border towns such as Woodstock.
The site-specific approach to landscaping begins with a free evaluation of your property’s landscape potential. It really never ends. Calvin also follows up with his work after the crew has moved on, even in winter.
